Veterinary Medical Ultrasound
Ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound is an indispensable diagnostic tool in the veterinary clinic. It offers a safe, non-invasive and dependable means of diagnosing and monitoring a broad range of conditions. Real-time, high resolution imaging allows accurate identification of abnormalities, guiding further diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This leads to more effective treatment plans and improved outcomes.

TFAST
TFAST allows for assessment of fluid within the pleural and pericardial space. Shred signs and/or
B lines can be used to identify diseased pulmonary parenchyma. Pulmonary mass lesions can also be identified allowing ultrasound guided FNA.
Focused echocardiography for assessment of the LA:Ao ratio can aid in differentiating pulmonary versus cardiac disease.

Centesis
Centesis includes cystocentesis and both thoracic- and abdominocentesis. Thoracocentesis and abdominocentesis can be performed either to obtain a small diagnostic sample or for therapeutic drainage.

FNA
Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is used to obtain a sample from a mass or organ that can be evaluated cytologically. This indispensable diagnostic tool can be used successfully for a wide variety of anatomic locations and disease processes. In many cases, it can provide a definitive diagnosis, including diagnosis of infections and some tumours.
